I work remotely from Reidsville, NC. I administer an Enterprise Data Catalog (Informatica), contribute to AI initiatives, and work with compliance to detect private health information (PHI) in research datasets.

Antibiotic resistance represents one of the most pressing health threats of the modern era. When bacteria evolve to withstand antibiotic treatment, infections become harder to treat, leading to prolonged illness, higher healthcare costs, and increased mortality.

Common infections that were once easily treatable now require more complex and expensive therapies.

Efforts to combat antibiotic resistance focus on prevention, education, and innovation. Improved diagnostic tools help clinicians prescribe antibiotics more accurately, reducing unnecessary usage. Infection control measures in hospitals, such as improved sanitation and isolation protocols, also play a vital role.

Research into new antibiotics and alternative therapies, including bacteriophages and immune-based treatments, is gaining momentum. Public health campaigns encourage responsible antibiotic use, emphasizing that not all infections require these drugs.
