Infection control measures in hospitals, such as improved sanitation and isolation protocols, also play a vital role.

Research into new antibiotics and alternative therapies, including bacteriophages and immune-based treatments, is gaining momentum. Public health campaigns encourage responsible antibiotic use, emphasizing that not all infections require these drugs.
